A large government contractor in the aerospace sector needed a visualization and simulation environment as advanced as the designs its engineers create. Design reviews demanded detailed, immersive imagery; project teams and stakeholders needed an impressive space for internal and external briefings — more than a video wall, with cutting-edge 3D display technology integrated by Mechdyne, our partner.
32′ × 9′ — curved Crystal LED centerpiece
The centerpiece is a curved 32′ × 9′ 8K Sony Crystal LED direct-view display — one of few curved Crystal LED walls in existence. The extra-wide aspect ratio required special programming to show complex CAD models in their native format.

VR-enabled with ART motion tracking
Mechdyne programmed the installation for varied use cases. The windowing system displays 2D and stereoscopic 3D content from multiple sources anywhere on the screen. With Meeting Canvas, the wall can show up to four HD and four UHD 4K inputs simultaneously.
The system is virtual reality enabled by 16 high-quality motion-tracking cameras from ART. User position and orientation are monitored in real time so imagery updates with the correct perspective as the user moves — look around the corner of a virtual door by moving your head. The design also includes finger tracking to monitor hand position and orientation relative to on-screen components.
Immersive room design
Mechdyne built the display into the main wall so it reads as part of the structure. A custom frame brings panels close to the floor for a portal-like effect. Ancillary flat panels, 7.1 surround sound, and a facilitator control station complete the environment — for dynamic working sessions and presentations.
